Viper System Gen 2
$430.00
Two years of building the original Viper showed me where I could take it next.
Gen 2 changes the geometry, connector, and striker system to create more tuning range and push performance beyond the original design.
Every Viper is built and tuned individually, with only a limited number produced. Current lead time is approximately 6 weeks.
This is the top of TacticalPontoon—the system for the few who want to own the very best I know how to build.
Description
The Viper has always been the system I build when someone wants to see how far I can take a Glock competition trigger.
The original Viper got down around 2.5 lbs, had very little wasted movement, and could be tuned into an extremely fast trigger.
After 2 years of building and tuning them, I started seeing places where I could improve the system geometry for easier install, while maintaining the razor’s edge in performance.
The goal with Gen 2 is more room to tune, more control over how the system behaves, and the ability to push the Viper farther without relying on one extremely narrow combination of parts to make it happen.
The original Viper showed what TacticalPontoon could extract from the platform. Gen 2 changes where that limit is.
What’s Under the Hood
This is a complete trigger system, including;
- New Gen 2 trigger-bar geometry developed around the revised system
- New Gen 2 connector configuration selected and tuned around the Gen 2 trigger-bar geometry
- New Gen2 lightweight striker assembly maintaining a wider window for ammunition selection
- TacticalPontoon Viper tuned trigger shoe to remove all unnecessary movement while maintaining proper drop safety functions
- Adjustable overtravel system
- Reduced-weight firing-pin safety spring
- Gen 1–3 systems include an upgraded Gen 4/5 ejector
- Compound V10 assembly lube applied to critical contact surfaces (Developed for the Viper systems as an upgrade to the already amazing Badger Snot)
- Individually assembled, adjusted, tuned, and tested before leaving TacticalPontoon
- 2.5lb rated break weight
Striker Note: Gen 2 no longer asks you to choose a striker style. If your pistol has a slide swap or different-generation slide, verify whether the striker is the factory-style flat or round tip for that setup. If it differs from original, let me know in the order notes. Hint: Gen 1-4 Glock uses a flat tipped striker. Gen 5 uses a round tipped striker
Built One at a Time
The Viper has never been the system I try to build in large numbers. Gen 2 isn’t changing that. Each one is built to order, and I still go through the trigger bar, connector, travel adjustment, striker system, and final function individually before it leaves TacticalPontoon.
There are faster ways to build trigger systems. This isn’t one of them. Viper is the system where performance gets priority.
Estimated build time is approximately 6 weeks. Only a limited number can be built each month.
Installation
Viper Gen 2 is still not something I consider a basic drop-in trigger.
I am trying to make Gen 2 easier and more predictable for a knowledgeable installer to tune, but this is still TacticalPontoon’s highest-performance competition system.
The travel adjustment needs to be checked.
Engagement needs to be inspected.
The individual firearm matters.
Normal differences between frames, slides, and internal components can affect the final setup.
If you want something that can simply be installed without understanding what is happening inside the fire-control system, the Viper probably isn’t the system I would recommend.
Compatibility
Viper Gen 2 is available for compatible Gen 1–5 Glock models (Gen6 and V is coming)and select Glock-pattern platforms including Nomad Defense, Shadow Systems MR/XR, Grit Grips compact and full-size frames, and PSA Dagger platforms.
Does not fit: Glock 43, 43X, 48, CR920-series, Micro Dagger, or other Slimline-pattern systems.
Installation & Safety Notice
TacticalPontoon trigger systems are precision firearm components and should be installed only by a qualified gunsmith or certified Glock armorer. The installer is solely responsible for verifying proper installation, confirming compatibility with the firearm, and performing all required function and safety checks before the firearm is loaded or fired.
After installation, the firearm must be thoroughly inspected and tested to ensure all factory safety mechanisms operate correctly, including proper trigger reset, trigger safety engagement, striker safety function, and safe operation. Do not use the firearm if any safety check fails.
TacticalPontoon is not responsible for damage, injury, or malfunction resulting from improper installation, improper maintenance, unauthorized modification, use of incompatible components, misuse, or failure to perform required safety and function checks. By installing or using this product, the purchaser assumes all responsibility for the safe installation, inspection, testing, and operation of the firearm.
