Glock Gen 6….thoughts from the Pontoon
Glock Gen 6 and the Flat Face Trigger: First Thoughts from the Bench
The Glock Gen 6 is here, and the biggest talking point so far is the move toward a flat-face trigger from the factory. It’s a shift that caught a lot of attention — including mine — because anytime Glock adjusts core geometry, the entire aftermarket ecosystem changes with it.
Now, I’ll be honest: I’m still collecting information, studying the early photos, and waiting to get a Gen 6 torn down on the bench. I have avoided a bunch of Youtube videos because, I hate to be this honest but I have found many of these “guntubers” to be a little less than accurate. At this point I’m not fully sure what Glock changed internally or how deep the redesign goes. Some of it looks promising. Some of it… I’m not the biggest fan of. But until I see it up close and measure everything myself, I’m not stamping any conclusions on it.
What I can tell you is this:
A new generation means a new opportunity.
A chance to push performance even further.
A chance to build something worthy of the Department of Trigger Efficiency.
I’m not a massive shop with a huge R&D team or a marketing machine behind me. I don’t have the budget to be the first trigger system on the market for Gen 6 — and I don’t want to be. Speed isn’t the goal. Excellence is.
When I release something for the Gen 6 platform, it won’t be rushed.
It absolutely won’t be a “me too” product just to grab early sales.
It’ll be the best system available — the one built by hand, tested by feel, and refined until the flat-face geometry actually delivers the control, consistency, and break quality people expect but rarely get.
The Gen 6 might be something very cool…. Glock made their move. Soon it will be my turn.
As more details come in, I’ll keep everyone updated.
And when the time comes, TacticalPontoon will deliver the only trigger system that matters: the one built for shooters who refuse to settle.
I have a couple on pre-order and the best that I can tell, they should ship out during the SHOT show time frame in January. We shall see. What are your thoughts on the Gen 6?
